Check out 3 time T&T's Roadmarch Champion & 2009 International Soca Monarch's most recent single, "Denial." The song was produced the Virgin Islands very own AG Studios. For those that don't know AG Studios consists of Adrian "A-plus" Berke (Fusion Band & Daddy Jones ATC) and Simon "Gusty" Lettsome (Fusion Band). Look out for a lot of hits from these two in the coming months.
340 Muzik is late with this one and we completely apologize! Downloading this mixtape should be on your to do list... heck... it really should be on your Christmas Wishlist!! We hope you guys enjoy because 340 Muzik surely is enjoying this one.
Check out the latest addition in our #340LiveMuzikSeries. Pantha Vibes Int'l Live November 13, 2011 @ Sammy's. Enjoy fellow wuk up artists! By the way, why doesn't Pantha Vibes Int'l have a twitter account!?!?!
MASPARADING!!!! You got to give it to Dennis De Mennis... clever name for a song. It's great to hear a song that isn't about wukkin up all the time and breaks off from the rest of the pack to give you some thingdifferent. What's even better is that this song was produced by JMTB Productions (produced Dennis De Mennis' Journey a couple months ago) a future force in the Caribbean soca/calypso realm. Virgin Islanders should be happy that these two individuals have gotten together to bring good chunes. This is particularly great because for those Virgin Islanders who say calypso is no more we can point to this duo of producer and artist. Enjoy people!
Check out the latest release from Daddy Jones and the Crew featuring Jamal.... I'm sure the masses been waiting for this one to touch their ears after wukkin up countless times in a jam to this riddim. What's interesting is that this is a DJATC release. Does that mean DJATC is coming out with an album for #StxfESTIvAL2012, is Jamal not putting out his own album like last year? Remember, DJATC usually releases for St. Thomas Carnival in April and Daddy Jones then helps his lead singers/vocalists with their respective albums for STX Festival. This is shaping up to be an interesting festival so far... we can't wait to hear what else comes out from the DJATC camp (DJATC, Jamal, A-Plus).
Brand new for St. Croix Festival 2012, "Spirit of Carnival" by A.J. Ventura featuring Skinny Fabulous outta St. Vincent & the Grenadines. Written by A.J. Ventura & Skinny Fabulous.
I must say though, it is great to see V.I. artists collaborating with artists outside of the 340 area code. We at 340Muzik hope this is just the first of many collabs to come.
Maybe A.J. Ventura will be releasing an album for festival and not just this single for festiva. It's been awhile since we've heard a lot of work from the multi-talented artist producer outta STX.
St. Croix Christmas Festival is next month and Stylee Band has been releasing heavily on the air waves in case you didn't notice. Check out some of Stylee Bands riddim below to see wha they will be doing come jouvert mahnin. 2011-2012 Riddim Mix Pt. 1 by Swanks TheProducer
TweetVerse Simmonds brings us his latest single "Boo Thang" to life with the Gil Green directed video. Defining "boo thang" as a "a girl you like spending time with, one who always has your back, "the visuals tell tale of a player, turned boyfriend. The track serves as the leading the single off Verse's upcoming Konvict/BuVision debut.
It's been 6 years since we lost the best Virgin Islands calypso artist to ever perform on stage. In memory of Daddy Friday, DJ Cypha of Powerhouse Sounds releases to the 340 Muzik community his "Big Daddy Friday Tribute Mix." DJ Cypha touches on all the big hits in this mix and let me tell you that ain't easy to do when you making a mix of a man with 17 road marches alone (THAT'S A WHOLE ALBUM OF ROAD MARCHES!!!). Enjoy DJ Cypha's mix cause 340 Muzik surely is.
Any DJ that has put together a mix in memory of the late Daddy Friday and would like to share it here at the 340 Muzik can just e-mail us at340muzik@gmail.com and we'd be more than happy to share.
Don't forget to download our #FridaySpecials that we post every Friday here on 340Muzik.blogspot.com! See below for what we've posted so far:
@340Muzikwould like to take some time to introduce to our viewers one of the many Virgin Islands artists that have yet to reach their full potential. Unlike much of what we have posted on the site thus far this special artist is one that hones his lyrical skills in the genre of dancehall. @340Muzik would like to introduce to you an artist namedN'Ergi(Pronounced Energy).
Born in
Dominica & raised in the U.S Virgin Islands N'ergi is a dancehall artist that aims to
revolutionize the outlook on dancehall music. With his energetic style and catchy lyrics N'ergi has become another rising star throughout the Caribbean islands. Given the opportunity to work with people like ...O.T.M.[Ones to Millions]-USVI, JTalent[Aka The Beat Bully] - Virginia and influences such as Bounty Killer, Vybz Kartel, Movado, Aidonia and so many other dancehall Icons. N'ergi is now set out on a journey to success, By any means necessary. With a humble beginning he states that without those that work along side him none of this would be possible. He also endorses that Animosty Productions has become that foundation for where he shall build his musical empire. Below N'ergi was able to get an exclusive look into his upcoming mixtape. N'ergi has decided to bless us with 8 of the 20 tracks that are soon to come/ Check'em out and tell us thoughts below,
There's a NEW band in Rock City, St. Thomas and they're called Volume International. They released two songs lastweek on the Avalanche Radio Show around 4pm. 340 Muzik didn't get a chance to hear them release their songs but from the looks of Twitter & Facebook... the people were already going crazy. Rock City has another band how do you think Volume International will fare? Listen to their songs below and some of their riddims by riddim man Daddy O.
340 Muzik has to apologize to our audience for being late on this #FridaySpecial. This live we have here is starring Daddy Friday & the Jamband crew in Anguilla in 2002. So we would like apologize and want you to enjoy this#FridaySpecial!
There's a NEW band in Rock City, St. Thomas and they're called Volume International. They just released two songs today on the Avalanche Radio Show around 4pm. 340 Muzik didn't get a chance to hear them release their songs but twitter & facebook is already going crazy about how good they sound. Now that Rock City has another band how do you think Volume International will fare? How do you think they sounded today?
Here we have one of the first single's to be released by Daddy Jones Productions, "The Way You Wine," for #VirginIslandsCarnival 2011 mixed by Indy K. Bailey. The track is brought to you by Jamal (formerly of Stroka Band) and AJ Ventura (formerly of Xtaushun Band) who have collaborated to make this hit single. The is pure chune & winery! Props to Daddy Jones, Indy K. Bailey, Jamal, & AJ for making a smash. (Album Art Graphic Design by O'leary Richardson)
So far Stylee Band has released 3 singles for #STXFestival and a teaser movie previewing 6 CRAZY Riddims. That's where 340 Muzik comes in, we're here to give you one they released quite a while ago so this more of catch-up post than a "brand spanking new" one. So here it is folks, ting call "Woody"! Enjoy! Especially you ladies!
340 Muzik had been waiting anxiously for Swanks to post this video when he announced it yesterday. Right here we have the "Big Six" riddim that will be on Stylee Band's upcoming album #NowOrNever. Swanks announces that all of these riddims are recorded and songs in the making. Thus far into the year Stylee Band has been putting a lot of work into the soon-to-arrive St. Croix Festival 2011-2012. After releasing 3 songs so far for the season (No Man, Woody, Stop It Nuh Man). Let me tell you though, that by the sound of things so far, Stylee Band is the 340 Muzik front-runner for roadmarch favorite. Think of this video as trailer for the madness that will ensue in STX Festival 2011-2012. Better buy your tickets to STX now while they're relatively cheap.
However, let's not forget festival veterans PUMPA, who just released a single called "Cooping" and Dennis De Mennis also announced his single called "Journey" last week. Even though there have only been some releases so far we can't forget the two time Roadmarch champions Fusion Band, UMB Soldiers, Xpress Band, Jamal, and Stroka Band who could be withholding their hits for down the road. This shaping up to be a good year for St. Croix Festival and if you don't make it over there for festival then I don't know how you can call yourself a Virgin Islander. Stay tuned to 340 Muzik as we continue update you on what's new
With the hit song "I Love PVI", Pantha Vibes has won their 3rd roadmarch in 4 years!! What! 3 outta 4 years??? Well my piece... gwan wit yoself PVI! PVI has just recently acquired the musically dangerous
duo of Tafarai and Daddy Jones. Now that super bassman Tafarai joining the PVI squad it seems as though as nothing will be able to stop this band as they look to continue making hits pon toppa hits. The real question, however, is when will the Virgin Islands get to see the Return of PVI?
It's FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and you know what that means....340 Muzik is here to give you the addition to our #FridaySpecial series. We going way back with this live right here! Taking you to over to the Big island Santa Cruz (St. Croix) back in 1998! Jamband massive put yo hands in ah di air! #WeDontSleep!
I'm pretty sure we can all say we've heard of DJ Cypha! You know.. the guy who DJ's at Fat Turtle every Friday night and is at the Saint Nightclub on Saturdays (Temporarily shut down due to moving club location). Rumor has it that he might be DJ'ing at Caribbean Rock or Metropolis Lounge after Fat Turtle on Fridays. Go ahead and send him a tweet telling him where you want to see him next at on Friday nights (see twitter name below). For those who truly haven't had the #CyphaExperience just listen to his two mixes below and tell us your thoughts!
